What started out as an experiment turned into my first proper exhibition. It was a chance combination of lots of vintage and old beaten up frames coming into my possession and a tube of cheap left over gold paint I found in a box. I was thinking about palette restriction and how you can manipulate the light with two tones. So I started experimenting with the drama of gold and black.
Much of my work has its roots in the human condition and self discovery. Therapy had a huge impact on my life and my own understanding of myself is an ever growing quest. This combining with my love of coastal life (I live in the small Saxon village of Emsworth) meant that undersea themes started popping into my head as metaphors for self discovery.
These pieces have all fallen out very quickly and made sense to group them together for this exhibition. I hope you enjoy it. All originals are available to buy from here.
